Marquetry Classes

In an age where most everything is    created in a factory off shore, there is still one studio creating  handmade art. It’s us!!   However, our studio doesn’t stop  there.  Many people ask “how do you make this?” or “where can I  learn how to do this?” Well, we also offer the classes,  equipment, and instructional DVDs. So click below on the  picture of the art that you are interested in learning about  and it will take you to a new area of thinking and art!

I have known Robert Lee since his early days at Star's guitars in San Francisco, and he is one of the seminal figures in the west coast luthiery scene, He brings a wealth of experience in all areas of modern guitar construction, and repair, as well as the sort of knowledge that comes from years and years in the very special business. His Clevenger bass work speaks for itself, but when you study with a guy like Robert who has been there for so many legendary moments on the guitar making scene you will learn about not just the building of instruments but about the longer perspective on the whole professional scene, he has my ringing endorsement!

Here is what Ron Armstrong, founder of Stars Guitars had to say about Robert Lee:

"I met Robert Lee many moons ago when he rolled into Stars Guitars, he is a dedicated craftsman, a skilled builder, and an innovative guy.  I have watched Rob's career grow, and I have seen him turn out amazing products, with truly gifted work, and a passion for guitars few people can begin to rival.  He is a constant source of inspiration to those around him, and is fun to work with.  Nobody does a better job of explaining complex concepts, or relating tasks to an audience then Rob, his ability to teach is legendary, and he makes it all seem so easy.  We have worked together on many projects over the years, I know I can always rely on him, and I am proud to say we are more than just colleagues, we are friends.  After having worked at the forefront of the guitar field for more then thirty years, I am of the opinion that there may be a couple of dozen people at the leading edge of the business, and Robert Lee is one of those people."
