The name of the Learning Center, Big Tree, comes from a 2000 year old Sequoia tree on the Napa, California property spared by the loggers in the 1860’s. It is a mysterious, tall, old soul that has seen much. The branches which are called candelabra, are named because of lightning striking the tree and causing huge branches to grow out of the sides. Students may take the 10 minute hike to Big Tree and if they want, they may purchase the “Camp Big Tree I SAW IT!”  T-shirt after that.
